New hall for school road safety education in operation

Invitation to the press event: 31 March, 11.30 a.m., Konradstraße 7

On Friday, 31 March at 11.30 a.m., the Head of the Chemnitz City Education Authority, Jirka Meyer, and the Head of the Central Services Inspectorate of the Chemnitz Police Directorate, Police Director Frank Rammelt, will present the new training area for school traffic education. This is located on the ground floor of the residential and commercial building at Konradstraße 7.

Media representatives are cordially invited to the press conference. Pupils will also be on site that day.

The new 1,500 square metre training area for school road safety education has been in operation for a few days now. As it is located in a building, it can be used regardless of the weather. In addition, physical education lessons will no longer be restricted in future, as road safety education previously took place on courses in sports halls or school playgrounds.

As the school authority, the city of Chemnitz is responsible for ensuring the material and organisational requirements for road safety education in schools. The practical part of cycling education takes place as part of school road safety education in accordance with the primary school curriculum in year 4, and in special schools in years 5 and 6, with at least two visits totalling ten teaching units (45 minutes each).
