New guidelines for Christmas market applicants
At its meeting today, the City Council adopted a new guideline governing the selection procedure for admission to the Chemnitz Christmas Market. The guideline comes into force on 1 January 2023.
The allocation of municipal huts has been reorganised. Some selection criteria have been specified, while others such as "novelties" and "own production" have been completely removed.
However, the criterion of the regionality of the goods on offer has been newly included in order to take environmental aspects into account. This criterion is considered to be fulfilled if the production of the main components of the product range takes place in Saxony.
