New guideline for the promotion of independent organisations in the field of social work
Yesterday, the City Council adopted a new guideline for the promotion of independent organisations in the context of securing skilled workers in the field of social work. This guideline comes into force today. It applies for the first time to students in the 2019/2020 academic year.
There is a shortage of skilled workers, particularly in the professions related to education, social work, health and care. In order to better secure the next generation of skilled workers for independent organisations, this guideline creates the conditions for the proportionate assumption of costs by the Office for Youth and Family Affairs in cooperation with the Social and Health Office.
The city assumes a share of the personnel costs of the independent organisations for dual students on the social work course at the Berufsakademie Sachsen, Staatliche Studienakademie Breitenbrunn. Funding is available for up to ten students per academic year who receive a minimum salary of 440 euros per month. Funding is available for students on dual study programmes specialising in youth work/youth social work, work with disabled people, social services, educational support, elementary education and social gerontology.
This support is intended to enable the independent organisations to act as practice partners in the social work course at the Berufsakademie Sachsen, to prepare young, qualified employees competently for professional life, to offer future prospects and to secure well-trained specialists for themselves.
Applications for a grant must be submitted to the Office for Youth and Family Affairs by 15 April of the year at the latest. Detailed information and application forms can be found HERE
