New grandstand in the "Am Schloßteich" sports hall

The "Am Schloßteich" sports hall received a new spectator stand during the summer holidays.
Since its opening in 1984, the sports facility had been equipped with a mechanical spectator stand, which was regularly used for various events, in particular the games of the ChemCats Chemnitz e. V. women's basketball team. Due to the wear and tear of the grandstand over time, there were increasing complications when it was pulled out, meaning that a complete breakdown could have been expected in the near future.
The old grandstand was therefore replaced by a new telescopic grandstand system with an electric drive. This can accommodate 532 spectators.
The total cost of the project was around 276,000 euros.
