New fire engine for Stelzendorf volunteer fire brigade

Invitation to the press event: 13 June, 10 a.m.

On Saturday, 13 June at 10 a.m., Mayor Sven Schulze will hand over a new rescue fire fighting vehicle (HLF 10) to the Stelzendorf volunteer fire brigade at the fire station in Neukirchner Straße 6.

Representatives of the media are invited to attend.

Mayor Sven Schulze: "We are continuing the targeted renewal of our fire service technology this year. In addition to the HLF 10s already procured for the Adelsberg and Stelzendorf fire brigades, the replacement of vehicles from the volunteer fire brigades in Kleinolbersdorf-Altenhain, Einsiedel, Wittgensdorf and Röhrsdorf is also planned. This means that the volunteer comrades will also have access to modern technology in the event of an emergency."

The vehicle will replace the previously used LF 8/6 fire engine, which will be decommissioned after 25 years of service. The new HLF 10 offers the Stelzendorf volunteer fire brigade several advantages over the old vehicle: the significantly increased tank capacity of 1,600 litres and the modern pump technology ensure longer firefighting operations. The battery-operated hydraulic cutting and spreading tools can also be used more flexibly than the hydraulic equipment previously used. The Free State of Saxony is contributing around a third of the total costs of around 371,000 euros for the vehicle procurement.
