New exhibition at the public health department shows impressions of the "Monday painters" from the power station
From today, a new exhibition can be viewed in the City of Chemnitz Health Department in Haus am Rathaus 8: On display are watercolours, ink, sephia and red chalk drawings by twelve amateur painters who work on fine art under the name "Montagsmaler" (Monday Painters) at the Kraftwerk socio-cultural centre (Kaßbergstraße 36). Their works now on display at the health centre - mainly landscapes and still lifes - were created in the Monday courses led by Ekaterina Shuvalova, a social education worker, art lecturer and artist from St. Petersburg who now lives in Chemnitz.
The impressions of the "Monday painters" will be on display until 30 June 2013 in the public rooms of the health department. After the opening this Tuesday afternoon, the pictures can be viewed during the opening hours of the health department: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 am to 12 noon, and Tuesday and Thursday additionally from 2 pm to 5:30 pm.
