The redesigned entrance area of the central library in the TIETZ, Moritzstraße 20, will be reopened on Wednesday, 9 April at 2 pm. After 20 years of intensive use, the furniture and technology had to be modernised.
Representatives of the media are invited to attend.
The changes bring many advantages for customers and visitors:
The entrance area has been made clearer, more transparent and more attractive. There is also a standardised, barrier-free entrance and exit, which makes access easier for everyone.
A central contact point for service and information has been set up so that all customer concerns such as registration, payment and support in library matters can be dealt with in one place. A new return machine ensures trouble-free operation and there is now cosy seating in the bestseller area, inviting customers to linger.
The costs for the remodelling amount to a total of 97,000 euros. Of this, 72,000 euros are the City of Chemnitz's own funds and 25,000 euros were provided by the state of Saxony.
