New edition of the cycle route map "By bike through Chemnitz"

Picture: In der kommenden Woche wird der Plan in allen Rathäusern und Bürgerservicestellen sowie in der Tourist-Information Chemnitz ausgelegt und kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt.

The map "Mit dem Fahrrad durch Chemnitz" has been updated by the City of Chemnitz. The map was last published in 2009. It shows an overview of the signposted cycle routes in the city area.

In the coming week, the map will be available free of charge at all town halls and citizen service centres as well as at the Chemnitz Tourist Information Office. It is also possible for organisations and bike shops, for example, to order up to 150 copies of the map at radverkehr@stadt-chemnitz.de.

The map shows signposted cycle routes and highlights places of interest along the route. The section of the Chemnitz Valley cycle path that was opened today and the section that is due to be completed by December 2015 are also included on the map.

The best-known section is probably the route between Euba and the Rabenstein Forest as part of the Saxon city route and the German Mittelland route D 4. The Zschopautal cycle route, the Chemnitz-Flöha-Zschopautal cycle route and the Würschnitztal cycle route are informally shown as connections to the region.

Information is also provided on the "Chemnitz city bike" hire bike system, gradients, critical points on busy roads and important addresses for cycling in Chemnitz.
