New daycare centre for the Altendorf district
At its meeting today, the city council approved the construction of a new daycare centre in the Altendorf district by Chemnitzer Siedlungsgemeinschaft eG.
On 1 September 2019, 100 places for crèche and kindergarten children will be available. The new daycare centre will be operated by the independent youth welfare organisation SFZ Förderzentren gGmbH and will be built by Chemnitzer Siedlungsgemeinschaft eG on Zinzendorfstraße as an integrative facility with barrier-free access. The costs amount to 2.7 million euros. The site, with its mature trees and quiet location, offers good conditions for a future day-care centre.
The contract to operate the centre was awarded to SFZ Förderzentren gGmbH following an expression of interest procedure. The youth welfare planning sub-committee was informed about the evaluation of all expressions of interest in March 2018. SFZ Förderzentrum gGmbH is organised on a socio-spatial basis in the Altendorf and Kaßberg districts of Chemnitz. In the Altendorf district, it operates the integrative daycare centre "Kindergarten der Sinne" with 90 places as a recognised provider of independent youth welfare services.
