New contact point for cultural education
The contact point for cultural education on the ground floor of the TIETZ is now staffed again. Katja Manz is the new coordinator for cultural education in the Chemnitz cultural area and is available as a contact person for all questions relating to cultural education.
As an interface between cultural and educational institutions, the contact point mediates and networks relevant players and provides information about offers and activities. One of its main focuses is to advise cultural and educational institutions, cultural professionals and citizens of the city of Chemnitz on issues relating to cultural funding.
Successful projects such as "Marktplatz Kultur & Schule" and "Kita & Künstler" are to be continued under the leadership of Katja Manz.
From 15 February 2017, the following consultation hours will be offered in the Kultur.RAUM (ground floor TIETZ): Wednesdays from 9am to 12pm and Thursdays from 2pm to 5pm.
Katja Manz, a freelance cultural and urban geographer, previously worked as a research assistant at the Institute for European Studies at Chemnitz University of Technology and has realised numerous projects in the field of cultural education. Most recently, she worked on the "Experience industrial history" app with two Chemnitz schools, which highlights the connections between the urban development of the city of Chemnitz and its industrial past from different perspectives. In May 2017, she will be leading a course at the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre that captures different perspectives of the city in a photographic exploration.
