New construction of a play and leisure centre in Marie-Luise-Pleißner-Park
Construction work began yesterday on a new play and leisure centre in Marie-Luise-Pleißner-Park.
Future users were involved in the planning and brainstorming process. They were asked to choose one of three activity proposals. The majority decided in favour of "jumping and climbing". The result was a concept entitled "The Jumping Point".
On the paved, semi-circular open space in the northern area of the park, a versatile play area with a total size of around 830 square metres is to be created, the highlight of which will be a spatial net with an integrated trampoline. This space net, up to 3.5 metres high and named "Eurythmus", invites children from the age of eight to play bouncy games.
A small climbing wall, a stair-slide combination, another trampoline on the ground and a sandpit are also integrated into the overall concept.
For parents and supervisors, high-quality seating with wooden slats and panelling is provided, which blends in with the play and leisure facilities.
The Marie-Luise-Pleißner-Park can be used without restriction for the most part during the construction period. Only the construction site itself and a construction/access road in the east of the park between Zschopauer Straße and the construction site will be temporarily cordoned off and therefore not accessible or passable.
The planning office LOR Landschaftsarchitekten Otto+Richter from Dresden was commissioned with the planning services. The construction work will be carried out by the construction company Steinbach & Richter GbR Landschaftsgestaltung. The total costs amount to around 300,000 euros.
The work with many details and customised designs will continue until May 2021.
The facility is therefore expected to open on 1 June, International Children's Day.
