New Christmas market vouchers are well received
The sale of the new vouchers for the Chemnitz Christmas market has got off to a successful start. To date, 898 voucher sheets have been sold to companies, clubs and private individuals, of which 535 are worth 25 euros and 363 are worth 50 euros.
A total of 461 voucher sheets have been sold to companies and clubs alone - broken down by region: approx. 70 per cent within Chemnitz, approx. 15 per cent to Central Saxony, approx. 10 per cent to the Ore Mountains and approx. 5 per cent to more distant locations such as Leipzig.
Voucher forms were also sent to private individuals from Freital and Wermelskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia, among other places.
The new voucher sheets, which were presented for the first time at the press conference for the Christmas market and have been on sale at the tourist information centre on the market since mid-November, have a total value of 25 or 50 euros each. With sections worth 2, 3 and 5 euros, visitors can shop at most of the huts and stalls and enjoy the wide range of products on offer: from bratwurst, tea and mulled wine to hats and traditional Christmas decorations and handicrafts.
The voucher sheets are not only an ideal gift for family and friends, but also an opportunity for local companies to give their employees a treat. The voucher sheets are available at the Tourist Information Centre on the market square in Chemnitz.
They can be redeemed for the entire duration of the Christmas market.
This campaign is being implemented in cooperation with the Market Department and the Business Division of the City of Chemnitz as well as Chemnitz Tourismus und Marketing GmbH (CTM) - with the aim of increasing the appeal of the Chemnitz Christmas Market and attracting more visitors to the city centre.
With more than 180 stalls, the Chemnitz Christmas market is one of the largest and most popular Christmas markets in Germany. This year, it will once again cover the market square, Neumarkt, Rosenhof, Jakobikirchplatz and will be complemented by the Erzgebirgsdorf on Düsseldorfer Platz and the Chemnitzer Klosterweihnacht on Klosterstraße.
