The voucher, initiated by the City of Chemnitz's business division, can be purchased at the tourist information office on the market square or downloaded online at www.chemnitzcitygutschein.de with a flexible value and redeemed in more than 40 shops, restaurants and cultural institutions in Chemnitz city centre. The "Chemnitz City" voucher is aimed at citizens, visitors to the city centre and all those who want to shop locally. Every voucher amount redeemed stays in Chemnitz and supports local suppliers and the structures that make the city centre vibrant. The voucher thus strengthens the diversity of Chemnitz city centre and sends out a signal for regional cohesion.

In parallel to the public voucher offer, employers can provide their employees with a digital credit as part of a tax-privileged benefit in kind, which can also only be used at Chemnitz acceptance points.
