New brochure on intervention areas published
Free display in municipal facilities and in the city area
The City of Chemnitz has published a new brochure on the intervention areas, which provides information on the construction progress of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 urban development project. It offers detailed insights into the urban planning changes and developments in the course of the European Capital of Culture.
The 30 intervention areas that have been and will be remodelled in various ways by next year are presented. From the traditional Hartmannfabrik - the visitor and information centre for the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 in the celebratory year - to the new district park on the renaturalised Pleißenbach and the Euba fairground in a rural district - the brochure documents the plans and implementation phases of these projects.
The construction of the intervention areas is financially supported by funding organisations from Europe, the federal government and the Free State of Bavaria. As a result, the originally estimated funds of 30 million euros from the Capital of Culture budget will be more than doubled and more than 60 million euros are expected to be invested in urban infrastructure.
The brochure, which is published in a print run of 5,000 copies, comprises 28 pages full of information, photos of construction sites and completed projects. Planning visualisations and an overview map of the intervention areas on the city map can also be found there.
Interested citizens can now obtain the brochure free of charge from municipal facilities such as the citizen service centres, the health department and the TIETZ. It is also available at 75 other locations throughout the city, including cultural institutions, catering establishments and retail outlets. It can be downloaded in digital form here.
