New BMX and skate park
Completion of the Usti nad Labem street play and leisure centre
ATTENTION!
The official handover of the new BMX and skateboard facility on Usti nad Labem Street by Mayor Michael Stötzer announced for 2 June at 4 pm has been cancelled due to the weather. However, it is now open for use.
The play and leisure facility, in the immediate vicinity of the "UK" children's and youth centre, includes a new football pitch and a skating facility with various concrete riding options. The various sporting options and routes were agreed in advance with the young users.
The planning was carried out by the Architektur-Concept Zwickau planning office and the City of Chemnitz green space department. The company Fachcenter Garten + STL-Bau GmbH, Heinsdorfergrund, was commissioned with the construction work.
The construction costs amounted to around 150,000 euros with approx. 30 percent funding from the federal-state programme Stadtumbau Ost.
