New access road to the initial reception centre for asylum seekers in Chemnitz/Ebersdorf completed
The newly built access road from Glösaer Straße to the initial reception centre for asylum seekers in Chemnitz/Ebersdorf was opened to traffic today.
A total of around 900 metres of new road were built and around 200 metres of Glösaer Straße were rebuilt. The new road was built with a carriageway width of 6.75 metres and a 2.50 metre wide pavement on one side. Drainage troughs were also created on both sides, which release the rainwater into the existing drainage system via a storage channel.
Street lighting was installed on the side of the pavement. Trees will be planted afterwards.
The construction work began on 9 October 2017. It has been completed on schedule. The costs for this amount to around 2.2 million euros. Financing was provided by the Free State of Saxony, represented by the Sächsische Immobilienmanagement SIB. A financing agreement was concluded between the City of Chemnitz and the SIB.
The construction work was carried out by Max Bögl Stiftung und Co KG, Elterlein site.
