"NEUES AUS DEM PERM - international contemporary jewellery art and the Chemnitz Petrified Forest" in Ljubljana
Special exhibition of the Museum of Natural History Chemnitz in the Slovenian twin city
The highly acclaimed exhibition by the Museum für Naturkunde Chemnitz entitled "NEW FROM THE PERM - international jewellery art and the Chemnitz Petrified Forest" will be presented in Ljubljana, Chemnitz's Slovenian twin city, from 15 October to 23 November. The project is supported by the City of Chemnitz.
After Leipzig, Chemnitz and Lodz, this is the fourth location for the special exhibition organised by the Chemnitz Museum of Natural History in cooperation with the Chemnitz Artists' Association and the City of Chemnitz.
About the exhibition: Inspired by sensational excavation finds, research at the Museum für Naturkunde Chemnitz and sensational scientific discoveries, eleven international jewellery artists have developed very individual interpretations of the silicified wood from the Permian period. The pieces of jewellery provide a variety of insights into current trends in international contemporary arts and crafts and present the fascinating aesthetic quality of the 291 million year old silicified wood found in Chemnitz in a very special light.
