Neefestraße: Next construction phase begins
Passage under the Neefestraße bridge closed
From 5 a.m. on Wednesday 17 July, the road "Im Neefepark" will be fully closed to traffic in the area of the passage under the Neefestraße bridge. The reason for this is the removal of the shoring under the northern bridge structure. (see Figure 3mod4).

This closure will lead directly into construction phase 3.2a. It begins on Saturday 20 July at midnight and is expected to last until midnight on 18 August. During this time, the traffic facilities under the bridge will be built from the Clemens-Winkler-Straße junction to the Rampe Süd traffic light junction. The area will be fully closed to traffic during this construction phase. Access to Neefepark will be from both the city centre and the country side via Carl-von-Bach-Straße and Tuchschererstraße. The exit from Neefepark in the city direction is possible via the existing ramp "Im Neefepark". The Clemens-Winkler-Straße exit in the direction of the city is via Neefestraße landwards, the A72 slip road in the direction of Hof and the A72 exit in the direction of the city centre (see Figure 3-2a).
With the start of phase 3.2a, the early renewal of the landward carriageway (phase 3.3) ends and the closed north-east motorway junction can be used again (see Figure 3-2a).

Construction phase 3.2b will continue from midnight on Monday 19 August until approximately 6 p.m. on Friday 30 August. The above-mentioned restricted area under the bridge construction site will then be extended to include the area of the traffic light junction.
The south ramp will then be fully closed, making it impossible to enter and leave Neefepark from the city centre via the ramp. During these two weeks, access to Neefepark will only be possible via the bus interlock (see Figure 3-2b).
The damaged paved areas in the diversion route (Neefepark loading zone in front of the bus interlock) will be repaired before the start of phase 3.2b.

Background:
Neefestraße is being extensively renovated between the junction with the 72 motorway and the Südring. The overall project includes:
- Replacement construction of the Neefestraße bridge over the Im Neefepark road,
- Extension of the single carriageway from Neefepark to Neefestraße in the direction of the city centre and
- carriageway renewal on Neefestraße between A72 and Südring in both directions.
The construction work began at the end of April 2023 and is expected to last until the end of 2024. Traffic will be diverted past the construction site during this time.
