Nature conservation centre organises flower meadow action day
Invitation to the meadow maintenance day on 6 August in Ebersdorf
On Saturday, 6 August, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the nature conservation station of the city of Chemnitz invites you to a flower meadow action day on the bathing meadow of the former Reichsbahnbad in Ebersdorf. On the meadow, which is protected as a natural monument, the day will be all about biodiversity.
Various activities are planned for children and adults to explore, learn and join in: Which plants grow on a species-rich meadow and which insects can be found? How does insect- and meadow-friendly mowing work? What technology needs to be used? How is a scythe used and honed correctly?
Anyone who wants to can help with making hay and the traditional transport by horse-drawn cart. If you would like to enrich your own meadow with seed, you can take mown material with you. Small excursions are also offered for those interested in the nature reserve.
There are plenty of parking spaces available near the Badwiese (car park of the Saxon Railway Museum, An der Dresdner Bahnlinie 130 c, 09131 Chemnitz).
