Nationwide warning day on 14 September

On Thursday, 14 September, the nationwide warning day will take place this year, in which the city of Chemnitz is also participating.

At 11 a.m., the sirens and CVAG bus stops will sound a "warning of danger" (one-minute wailing tone, i.e. six tones lasting five seconds each with a five-second pause), but without a gong or voice announcement. The following text is planned for the CVAG display boards and for the majority of digital city information boards: "Trial warning nationwide warning day 2023".

The all-clear will then be given at 11.45 a.m.: the all-clear warning tone (one minute continuous tone) will sound and the text "All-clear nationwide warning day 2023" will be displayed.

The warning is also tested via cell broadcast. This sends a warning message directly to mobile phones. No other means of warning can reach more people.

See Nationwide Warning Day, a website of the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK). Videos on the topic of warning the population can also be found there, as well as a survey on Warning Day 2023 from 14 September at 11 a.m.
