Names and favourite places wanted for NUMIC model route
Start of the second participation phase - online tools are available
The NUMIC model route for cycling and walking from the Sportforum to Zeisigwald chosen by the people of Chemnitz is to be given a name. Ideas and suggestions are also needed for this, from which the best and most suitable will be selected by online voting. Anyone can take part now at numic.city. The deadline for submissions is 18 September. The name suggestions will be sorted by the project team of the city and TU Chemnitz and then prepared for further voting. Voting will then continue until 4 October.
At the same time, a wish list will be launched online to report favourite places and weak points along the route. The map tool on numic.city is now available at the start of the second participation phase of the NUMIC research project, which runs from late summer to autumn. Suggestions for the bicycle and pedestrian-friendly design of the model route can be submitted until 20 September.
The online participation is intended to highlight wishes and shortcomings regarding mobility and quality of stay along the route. These will then be developed into small-scale measures in further ideas competitions and discussed together. Chemnitz residents will thus become part of the planning process on the participation platform, from the initial idea to the decision on implementation. The route will be developed by spring 2021.
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the interdisciplinary research project NUMIC. The TU Dresden, Fraunhofer IAO and Innosabi GmbH are also project partners.
