All interested parties are cordially invited. In addition to opening words, there will be a small musical and culinary accompaniment. Admission to the opening and exhibition is free. The exhibition can be seen at least until 20 March 2020 at the adult education centre during the usual opening hours, Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and also when courses are running.
Chemnitz is a colourful city. People from 140 countries live here. In the "My Neighbour in Chemnitz" project, a book was written together with structurally illiterate people. And the rules of easy language were used in the process. Special people from other countries and cultures were photographed and portrayed. These people have told their stories and reported significant things about their countries. A professional graphic designer also created pictures showing valuable things from the countries. The five world religions are also explained in plain language.
The result is an extraordinary textbook in easy language about the different cultures in Chemnitz.
All the project photographs, graphics and sample pages from the book are on display in the corridors of the adult education centre on the 5th floor.
