The summer break is also over for the music café "DA CAPO - Music for Seniors" from September: invitations are being sent out to kick off the music series, which is held on the first Thursday of every month, on 6 September at 3 pm. The meeting point for music lovers is once again in the large hall of the Kraftwerk socio-cultural centre, Kaßbergstraße 36. Host Nancy Gibson, head of the municipal music school, will be welcoming opera and concert singers Kerstin and Edward Randall and pianist Tom Bitterlich for a chat and music to mark the start of the new season and in response to many requests from Musikcafé visitors.

Kerstin and Edward Randall are members of the Chemnitz Music Theatre Ensemble (she as a permanent guest, he as a member of the ensemble) and are known to audiences from many opera and operetta performances, including at many European theatres. Both artists were last seen at the Chemnitz Opera House in the musical "Ganz oder gar nicht", where they were a hit as Vicky Nichols and Malcolm Macfregor. In addition to their stage work, Kerstin Randall teaches classical singing at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School and Edward Randall is Professor of Singing at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden.
Pianist Tom Bitterlich has long been well known to music theatre fans. He has been a solo repetiteur at Chemnitz Opera House since August 2003 and can also be seen live at the regular "Operfrühstück" event, for example, and has been responsible for the musical direction of various theatre productions. For his work as a concert accompanist, Bitterlich was honoured with the 1st prize for piano accompaniment at the national competition "Jugend musiziert".

Guests at the music café are cordially invited to enjoy an entertaining and relaxing afternoon with coffee and cake - admission per person €5 (including coffee and cake). The organising team is looking forward to welcoming many visitors. Guests who are dependent on a wheelchair should use the signposted side entrance to access the venue.
