Music café in September with prominent opera and concert soloist
After the summer break, the event series "DA CAPO - Music for Seniors" will once again host musical encounters on the first Thursday afternoon of every month from September . This time, host Nancy Gibson, Director of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, welcomes Prof. Christiane Hossfeld, a prominent opera and concert singer, to the music café for a talk and lecture. The artist will be accompanied by pianist Esther Lingath, who teaches piano at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School.
Christiane Hossfeld has already appeared on the stages of many renowned opera houses and has sung roles such as Zerbinetta ("Ariadne auf Naxos"), Zerlina ("Don Giovanni") and Musetta ("La Bohéme") at the Semperoper Dresden. The artist is also a regular guest at the Bayreuth Festival, for example as the shepherd boy in "Tannhäuser" and as the first flower girl in "Parsifal". Ms Hossfeld has been teaching singing at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden since 1997 and was appointed professor in 2008. For some years now, the artist has also devoted herself intensively to art song and has given various recitals of her own.
As always, Musikcafé guests are cordially invited to enjoy an entertaining and exciting afternoon with coffee and cake. The organisers are once again looking forward to welcoming numerous music lovers - the admission price is 5 euros (including coffee and cake).
Guests in wheelchairs are kindly requested to use the signposted side entrance.
