Music café in October with Tom Bitterlich

With her music café guest in the October edition of the monthly event "DA CAPO - Music for Seniors" at Haus Kraftwerk, host Nancy Gibson, Director of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, is fulfilling a wish often expressed by many regular guests of the popular series of events: Tom Bitterlich, solo repetiteur at the Chemnitz Municipal Theatres, will be available to answer questions in conversation with the director of the Municipal Music School and, of course, will also make his musical presence felt on the grand piano - the invitation is for Thursday, 2 October , 3 p.m. in the large hall . October, 3 p.m., in the large hall of the Kraftwerk socio-cultural centre (Kaßbergstraße 36).

Born in Chemnitz, Tom Bitterlich began his musical and artistic career as a pupil at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, was a special needs pupil at the "Studio W.M." in Chemnitz and studied at the "Carl Maria von Weber" Academy of Music in Dresden from 1998 to 2003. Bitterlich has been a member of the Chemnitz Opera ensemble as a solo repetiteur since August 2003. Tom Bitterlich has also become well-known as an actor, especially to musical theatre fans: Since 2000, he has played and sung Schlomo in "Fame" and has also appeared in "Les Misérables". Bitterlich has been musical director of the "ShowBiss" company since January 2003. At Chemnitz Theatre, he was musical director of "Das Feuerwerk", "Aida", "Der Zauberer von Oss", "Zauberflöte für Kinder" (also as pianist) and "Funny Girl". Tom Bitterlich has taken over the musical direction for the performance of "Flashdance" - the musical will have its German premiere at the Chemnitz theatre on 20 September.

Tom Bitterlich has also become known to a wide audience as a musical accompanist on the piano/grand piano at recitals, concerts, musical galas and cabaret programmes. Music professor Horst Singer at the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre is also enthusiastic about the artistic calibre of his young successor as a pianist and accompanist.

The Musikcafé organisers are once again looking forward to a great response to their talks and music programme in October and promise Musikcafé guests an entertaining afternoon with coffee and cake at Haus Kraftwerk. The entrance fee is 5 euros including coffee and cake. Guests who are dependent on a wheelchair should use the signposted side entrance.
