Music café in January
In dialogue: Ingolf Günther, trombonist and chairman of the association
The first "DA CAPO - Music for Seniors" music café of the new year will take place on Thursday, 9 January 2014 at 3 pm at the Kraftwerk socio-cultural centre at Kaßbergstraße 36.This time, host Nancy Gibson, Director of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, will be talking to Ingolf Günther, Chairman of the Chemnitz Music Society.
Founded in 1837, the Chemnitz Music Society was re-established on 12 June 1991 on the initiative of GMD Dieter-Gerhardt Worm and the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra Chemnitz with the aim of promoting the city's musical life. Ingolf Günther is also a musician himself: as a trombonist and member of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra Chemnitz, he describes his involvement in the Musikverein as a matter close to his heart.
In what is sure to be another exciting and informative chat between Nancy Gibson and Ingolf Günther, the audience will learn interesting facts about the musician's life and his work in the Chemnitz Musikverein.
Guests of the music café are invited to enjoy another relaxing afternoon with coffee and cake. Admission is 5 euros per person including coffee and cake. Visitors to the Musikcafé who are dependent on a wheelchair should use the signposted side entrance.
