Music and chocolate or chocolate with music

Music school presents flavourful components in music

Popcorn at the cinema, beer with a football match and snacks with an evening of TV apparently belong together. Now, on Sunday, 18 September 2016, 7 pm at the Chemnitz Music School, the motto is "Music and chocolate or chocolate with music".

The Saxon Music Association has called on composers to consider flavour components as inspiration for a new work, in much the same way that a composer normally thinks about "word-sound relationships" in songs.

Each composer refers to a flavour: from whole milk and dark chocolate to amarettini and chilli, there are plenty of options to choose from.

For each piece of music, the audience will be served the corresponding piece of chocolate at the concert.

The works for piano trio were composed by Matthias Drude, Christian Diemer, Knut Müller, Johannes Sandberger, Miro Dobrowolny, Theodor Pauss and Christian FP Kram.

The works will be performed by ART Ensemble NRW, Düsseldorf: Martin Schminke, violin - Othello Liesmann, cello - Theodor Pauss, piano

Admission costs 6 euros, concessions 5 euros.
