Municipal music school informs
Information on the closure of the municipal music school due to Corona
Fees
No tuition fees are due for the period of the ordered closure. These will be reduced proportionately. All users of the music school will receive a revised fee notice showing the reduction and the fees to be paid. It is not yet clear when this will be sent out.
Until the new fee notices are sent out, there will be no SEPA direct debit. This was first suspended on the due date of 30 March 2020. Bank transfers do not have to be made either.
Fees for borrowed instruments
The fees for borrowed instruments will not be reduced, as the loan relationship has not changed and the borrowed instruments are still in the possession of the respective borrower and can still be used.
Online lessons
Online lessons are possible to a limited extent. If interested, music students are requested to contact their respective teachers.
Further requests
As the city administration of Chemnitz and therefore also the municipal music school is currently only available to a limited extent, any requests cannot be processed immediately at present. However, the date of receipt will be taken into account for subsequent processing.
General information
Approximately 2,500 pupils are currently enrolled at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School. They are taught by 16 permanent employees and 85 freelance teachers in individual lessons as well as in groups and ensembles.
