Municipal music school and Kraftwerk develop another new series of events after music café - Start from September

Nancy Gibson and Ute Kiehn present their joint project at the end of August

For almost five years now, the now very popular series of events "DA CAPO - Music for Seniors" has been a permanent fixture in the monthly programme of the Kraftwerk socio-cultural centre at Kaßbergstraße 36. The music café was launched in April 2009 on the initiative of music school director Nancy Gibson, who found an open-minded partner in Kraftwerk managing director Ute Kiehn for the realisation of her idea: She opened her building for the music café and the Kraftwerk, which is otherwise populated more by children and young people, to a new, older audience.

The mutually enriching collaboration between Chemnitz Municipal Music School and the Kraftwerk Socio-Cultural Centre will continue from September 2013 with a new series of events, jointly prepared by Nancy Gibson and Ute Kiehn. They would like to present their product at a press event - here is the date for media representatives: Tuesday, 20 August, 11 a.m., Salon Hartmann in the Villa am Haus Kraftwerk, Kaßbergstraße 36.

The press event, both initiators want to reveal this much in advance, is also very suitable for photographers and film crews - Nancy Gibson: "We have developed a new series of events, which we will be hosting at the Kraftwerk from September. The joint project of the Municipal Music School and Haus Kraftwerk will be presented to the public for the first time on 20 August. So please let us surprise you - we look forward to your visit!"

As far as the music café for senior citizens is concerned, the series of events will continue after the summer with a new edition on 5 September at 3 pm: This time, the guests will be singer Constanze Hähnlein, accompanied on the grand piano by Hendrik Lehmann, under the motto "Musical to Classical". Host Nancy Gibson invites guests with special musical connections to the music café and introduces them to the audience in conversation. Between 50 and 130 visitors accept the invitation to the monthly get-together with music and coffee and cake at Haus Kraftwerk.
