Municipal line information now also available online

Application and processing are simplified

An online portal for municipal pipe information is now available. This digitalises the process of finding out about the existence or location of pipes before carrying out civil engineering work in public traffic areas and makes it much easier to submit and process applications. Applicants can access the information portal via www.chemnitz.de/leitungsauskunft. The link has also been set up in the municipal service portal at www.chemnitz.de/dienstleistungsportal and in the service portal www.amt24.sachsen.de.

The Transport and Civil Engineering Department operates an extensive cable network with a total length of almost 240 kilometres for the city of Chemnitz's traffic lights and the city's broadband network. If companies or private individuals want to carry out civil engineering work in public traffic areas, they must first find out from the city and other utility providers whether and where cables are located. Until now, the transport and civil engineering department has largely processed the enquiries received manually.

The new online portal for municipal pipe information provides the required information immediately. In addition to significantly shortening processing times, it ensures that all users have direct access to the current pipeline inventory at all times.

The portal has a clear structure and is self-explanatory to use. Only a one-off registration is required. Please note that the account can only be used once it has been activated by the City of Chemnitz.

Help with the application can be obtained by calling the public authority service number 115 or by sending an e-mail to tiefbauamt-leitungsauskunft(at)stadt-chemnitz.de.
