Background
The municipal heating plan of the City of Chemnitz will provide the specialist departments involved and building owners with guidance on how the climate protection goal of climate-neutral heat supply by 2045 can be achieved. The respective plan is also an important tool for sustainable urban development. However, the informal municipal heating plan does not have any direct impact on the installation of new heating systems or the replacement of existing ones. In addition, the heating plan is intended to develop concrete measures with which the urban area can be supplied with climate-friendly heat. This also has a positive effect
positive impact on achieving the climate neutrality target of 2040 set by the city council. The kick-off for Chemnitz's heat planning took place on 20 June 2024.
