Municipal citizen survey Chemnitz 2020

The municipal citizen survey is entering the next round. Once again, 6,000 Chemnitz residents randomly selected from the residents' register are being contacted.

The aim of this survey is to find out more about the social and economic living conditions of Chemnitz residents, as well as their opinions and wishes. What has changed since last year?

Participation and answering the individual questions are of course voluntary. Nevertheless, it is important that as many people as possible take part in the survey. Only then will the data collected have the necessary informative value. The legal basis for the survey is the "Statutes of the City of Chemnitz for conducting municipal citizen surveys", which were adopted by Chemnitz City Council in 2016.

There are two ways to answer the questions:

1. by post: Return the completed paper questionnaire in the enclosed return envelope

2. online: Together with the questionnaire, everyone who was contacted received a personal access password in the cover letter, which enables them to answer the questions online at www.chemnitz.de/buergerumfrage.

The first evaluation results, which are statistically processed and naturally do not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the response behaviour of individuals, will be available in the coming year. All processed results will then be available to everyone.

All survey results will be stored and analysed exclusively anonymously and strictly separately from the address data. It will not be possible to establish a link between the answers and the individuals surveyed. The personal address data is deleted from the sample file when the questionnaire is received or when a response is submitted online.

In 2019, 41.2 per cent of respondents took part in the citizens' survey and answered questions about their life situation.
