Mozart Prize winner Jana Büchner as a guest at "DA CAPO"

As a singer, Jana Büchner is a much sought-after guest on Germany's major opera and concert stages. Now event participants of "DA CAPO - Music for Seniors" can also welcome the opera and concert singer as well as her musical accompanist, pianist Heinz Meißner.Both will be welcomed by music school director Nancy Gibson on Thursday, 7 November at 3 pm for the next edition of the music café in the large hall of the Kraftwerk e.V. at Kaßbergstraße 36.

Soprano Jana Büchner was born in Dresden and studied singing at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in her home city. After permanent engagements at the theatres in Freiberg and Chemnitz, she has been a freelance concert and opera singer since 2009 and has appeared in numerous roles at the State Opera in Hamburg and Dresden, the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the State Theatres in Munich, Braunschweig and Kassel. She has performed a wide variety of operatic roles. Her most important stage roles include Pamina (The Magic Flute), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Musetta (La Boheme), Gilda (Rigoletto), Ännchen (Der Freischütz), Zdenka (Arabella) and Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos). She also has a broad concert repertoire and is a regular guest soloist with internationally renowned orchestras such as the MDR Leipzig Radio Choir, Dresdner Kreuzchor, Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden. Concert and song recitals have taken her to many German cities and other European countries.

In an informative chat between Nancy Gibson and Jana Büchner, the audience learns interesting facts about her opera and concert appearances. The conversation is only interrupted to listen to well-known melodies.

As always with "DA CAPO", guests will experience an interesting afternoon with music, entertainment, coffee and cake. The entrance fee is 5 euros including coffee and cake. Guests who are dependent on a wheelchair should use the signposted side entrance.
