Moritzstraße between Annabergerstraße and Reitbahnstraße fully closed due to road collapse
Moritzstraße had to be fully closed to traffic in the section between Annaberger Straße and Reitbahnstraße late this afternoon. According to information from the traffic authority in the civil engineering department, the reason is a road collapse.
The one-way traffic regulation (from Annaberger in the direction of Reitbahnstraße) that otherwise applies in this section of road has currently been cancelled.
The facilities and buildings located in Moritzstraße in the area between Annaberger Straße and Reitbahnstraße (such as the daycare centre on one side, the BVZ Moritzhof and the savings bank building on the other side) are of course accessible. The footpaths in the area are also accessible.
The road collapse was initially detected and secured by the police. The city's traffic authority was then informed and ordered the road to be closed completely. Tomorrow, Friday, the damage will be assessed and all further steps will be determined so that the road can be used again as soon as possible.
