More than 2000 visitors at the first Rock am Kopp 2015
Denyo feat. Symbiz Sound fired up the fans in front of Nischl
More than 2000 visitors from Chemnitz and the surrounding area celebrated a hip-hop party right in front of the Karl-Marx-Kopf this afternoon. Denyo feat. Symbiz Sound and DJ Ron, who played his records as a warm-up, really got the crowd going. Denyo not only played songs from his current album "Derbe", but also received enthusiastic cheers for old hits from his time with the Absoluten Beginnern.
"Chemnitz is an awesome city," Denyo greeted the Rock am Kopp visitors. "Chemnitz is the city where the Splash comes from. I'm extremely grateful and honoured to be here." The crowd on Brückenstraße cheered him on and immersed the city centre in a festival atmosphere.
The organisers from Chemnitz Club Atomino and the city are satisfied with the response from the audience. Katja Uhlemann, press spokeswoman for the city: "Rock am Kopp with Denyo was a successful start to the year. People celebrated and danced in high spirits and made this afternoon in Chemnitz something special."
Despite all the weather forecasts, the concertgoers were spared the rain and accepted the invitation to move, jump, bounce and nod their heads in the summer heat. "Things are happening in Chemnitz," Denyo realised on stage.
The team from "Die Stadt bin ich" had something special in store for the first Rock im Kopp concert of the year. For example, festival wristbands were distributed, which delighted the hearts of the festival visitors. The campaign hashtag #chemnitzwilldich was joined by another with a wink. Next to "Rock am Kopp 2015" is #chemnitzwillmich.
The first concert in this year's "Rock am Kopp" concert series was made possible by the two main sponsors Volksbank Chemnitz and enviaM, with friendly support from Getränke-Pfeiffer and Radio Chemnitz.
The next "Rock am Kopp" will take place in August.
