More deaths in Chemnitz - figures not reported
Current situation regarding the corona pandemic in Chemnitz
Mayor Ralph Burghart informed the press today that the health department has detected a backlog of coronavirus infection reports.
This also includes the number of deaths. In the period from 9 to 16 November, there were a further 24 deaths in connection with a COVID-19 infection that did not appear in the previous statistics.
Specifically, these are 13 cases from Chemnitz hospitals, ten cases from various care homes and one case in the home environment. The deceased were eight men and 16 women, all over the age of 75, the majority over 80, one of whom was 100 years old.
This information has now been analysed and will be included in the statistics.
The current enormously high incidence of infections has necessitated a restructuring and reorganisation of the health department. The reporting channels have now been reviewed and fully clarified.
