Mordecai Richler: a reading matinee concert
On 26 September, 11 a.m. in the concert hall of the Municipal Music School
On Sunday 26 September at 11 a.m., interested parties are invited to a reading matinee concert as part of the 30th Days of Jewish Culture with Jeffrey Goldberg at the piano and Egmont Elschner and Nancy Gibson as speakers in the concert hall of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School. Admission costs 5 euros. (The pandemic and hygiene rules in force at the time of the event must be observed).
The Canadian author, screenwriter and essayist, Mordecai Richler, is one of the best-known Canadian writers in the world. In Canada itself, he was also a not uncontroversial figure in public life due to his statements on Canadian politics.
Richler came from a Jewish family and was the son of a scrap metal dealer.
The matinee concert will feature excerpts from "The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz", "Solomon Gursky was here" and some of Richler's peculiarly amusing contributions. Intermediate improvisations by Jeffrey Goldberg will round off the matinee.
