Mobile for tolerance - children's book author Ayşe Bosse visits primary schools > cancelled !

On Tuesday and Wednesday, 21 and 22 September, the Hamburg children's book author Ayşe Bosse will be visiting primary schools in Chemnitz. In four events, she will read from her book "Pembo - halb und halb macht doppelt glücklich" and then talk to the children.
The story is about Pembo, a girl who moves to Germany from Turkey with her family. She loves and misses her Turkish homeland and initially feels strange and lonely in Germany. But little by little, Pembo takes courage, explores her new surroundings and embraces the new.
The aim of the "Mobile for Tolerance" project is to promote tolerance and open-minded co-operation. Readings offer a wonderful opportunity to do this. Through Pembo's story, the pupils experience what it feels like to be a stranger and are thus sensitised to the feelings of others, can empathise with them and stand up for them. At the same time, they can share their own thoughts and experiences.
The "Mobile for Tolerance" project is taking place for the third time this year. It was initiated by the Chemnitz City Library Supporters Association and realised with the help of Chemnitz City Library. The readings are sponsored by the Local Action Plan of the City of Chemnitz.
The author
Ayşe Bosse's books for children and young people ("Weil du mir so fehlst", "Einfach so weg") have been highly acclaimed and hugely successful. Her first children's novel "Pembo" was honoured and nominated for the Youth Literature Prize. Ayşe Bosse grew up in a Turkish-German family. She now lives in Hamburg with her husband and daughter.
