Internet portal for the "I am the city" marketing campaign expanded - call for Chemnitz residents to tell their story
What was it like back then, 25 years ago? When the Peaceful Revolution brought down the GDR system, thousands took to the streets and the Wall came down in Berlin. Everyone has their own personal memories of this time of upheaval. The website "Die Stadt bin ich" ("I am the city") collects stories about the fall of the Wall from the city. At www.die-stadt-bin-ich.de/wendegeschichten, Chemnitz residents can share their memories, pictures and videos that reflect the events of 25 years ago.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution, a new section "Chemnitz, Karl-Marx-Stadt - Wendegeschichte(n)" has been set up. In addition to eyewitness accounts and editorial contributions, there are also event listings and a chronicle of the events 25 years ago.
