Membrane roof cladding at the Gablenz outdoor pool is renewed
At its meeting today, the city council decided to renew the membrane roof at the Gablenz outdoor pool. Construction is scheduled to begin in September and be completed by the end of 2021. The costs amount to around 516,000 euros.
The entrance and functional building of the outdoor pool, which opened in May 1998, is covered by a membrane construction. The roof work will be carried out after the outdoor pool season.
Due to major damage to the roof cladding, it will be completely replaced. No renovation work is required on the supporting structure, which is largely made of wood.
The new membrane skin is designed to allow more light through and provide better thermal insulation in summer.
