Meeting of the ECoC family in Nova Gorica

Representatives of the two European Capitals of Culture 2025 exchange ideas

From Wednesday to Saturday, 9 to 12 October, Lord Mayor Sven Schulze, Stefan Schmidtke and Andrea Pier from the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH will be travelling with a delegation to Nova Gorica and Gorizia, the Slovenian-Italian city that will also be European Capital of Culture next year, for a so-called ECoC* Family Meeting. In addition to the European Capitals of Culture 2025, other representatives of the European Capitals of Culture from 2008 to 2029 will also come together there - to network together and learn more about the programme content of the European Capitals of Culture 2025.

The Chemnitz delegation and the representatives of the other European Capitals of Culture will meet Mija Lorbek, Director of GO!2025 and Stojan Pelko, Programme Director of GO!2025, the title of the European Capital of Culture year in Nova Gorica/Gorizia.

Colleagues from all over Europe - the ECoC family - will be presented with the cooperation between the two European Capitals of Culture 2025. Both Chemnitz and Nova Gorica/Gorizia will present their projects and programme highlights. Together, they will visit various locations in Nova Gorica and Gorizia where events will take place in the coming year.

The programme also includes a meeting between the Chemnitz delegation and Sylvia Groneick, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Louis Mourier, Head of Department for Culture and Press Relations at the German Embassy in Ljubljana.

Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will also meet with his two counterparts Samo Torel (Nova Gorica) and Rodolfo Ziberna (Gorizia) for a mutual exchange.
