Measures to promote democracy are supported
Information event on funding, participation and co-design on 25 January, 4 p.m. - Applications for project funding can be submitted until 19 February
Subject to the adoption of the federal budget, the City of Chemnitz and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth are providing funding totalling 180,000 euros for measures to promote democracy in 2018. Support will be provided to initiatives, associations and individuals who wish to participate in the implementation of the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz (LAP).
24,000 euros will be made available for a project on democratic youth education. Download the call for proposals here:
Further funds are available for projects to strengthen basic democratic rights and universal human rights. Funding is also provided for measures that support the non-violent coexistence of different cultures and lifestyles in Chemnitz. The target groups remain children and young people, senior citizens, Chemnitz residents and other multipliers.
An information event on opportunities for funding, participation and co-design as part of the LAP will take place on 25 January 2018 at 4 p.m. in the Bürgerhaus Am Wall, Düsseldorfer Platz 1, 09111 Chemnitz, 4th floor, training room 4.100.
Applications for project funding as part of the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz/Federal Programme "Living Democracy" can still be submitted until 19 February 2018. Applications must be submitted to the coordination office in written and digital form by this date. The maximum grant amount is 6,000 euros. For young people up to the age of 27, 7,000 euros are available for micro-project funding. They are administered by the Netzwerk für Kultur- und Jugendarbeit e.V. (Network for Cultural and Youth Work). The young people involved in the youth forum decide on the allocation of funding.
The cohesion of our society depends crucially on how we succeed in creating attractive opportunities for this. This is possible within the framework of the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz (LAP)/Partnership for Democracy as part of the federal programme "Living Democracy". The development of the new target pyramid for the LAP was the result of a negotiation process with many committed individuals and forms the basis for project funding alongside the funding guidelines.
