Mayor welcomes guests from the twin city of Akron

Invitation for media representatives for Monday (24 June) to the photo session at the town hall

Mayor Barbara Ludwig welcomes guests from the US twin city of Akron on Monday, 24 June 2013. Expected for an exchange and discussion at Chemnitz City Hall are Robert Y. Bowman, Akron's Business Mayor, and consultant Stephen Kidder, two official representatives of the city who have been associated with Chemnitz for many years.

Representatives of the media are cordially invited to a photo opportunity at City Hall on Monday, 24 June - the meeting point is 11:15 a.m. on the 2nd floor in front of the Mayor's offices.

One of the focal points of the visit for the guests from Akron during their several-day stay in Chemnitz will once again be the Technology Centre Chemnitz (TCC). The aim is to develop the existing economic relations and contacts between Akron and Chemnitz with further meetings in companies.

The current visit by representatives of the City of Akron also includes talks at Chemnitz University of Technology.

Chemnitz has been twinned with the city of Akron in the US state of Ohio since 1997. The contractual basis was renewed last year on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the city partnership between Chemnitz and Akron in Chemnitz City Hall by the Mayor of Chemnitz, Barbara Ludwig, and Donald L. Plusquellic, Mayor of the City of Akron, with their signatures.
