On Tuesday, 17 June at 1.10 pm, Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will receive students from the French twin city of Mulhouse in the City Council Chamber of the Town Hall. They will be visiting Chemnitz from 15 to 19 June.

After two years as pen pals, students from the Dr Wilhelm André Gymnasium are now meeting their peers from the Collège in Mulhouse in person for the first time in Chemnitz. In order to gain an insight into life in France and promote their own skills in French and German, the girls and boys from the Chemnitz secondary school have been in contact with the young people from Mulhouse by letter since Year 8.
On 16 June, the French guests will first get to know the Dr.-Wilhelm-André-Gymnasium before exploring Chemnitz and the city's history on 17 June. This also includes a visit to the town hall with Lord Mayor Sven Schulze. In addition to a welcome, the young people can expect an insight into the international work of the City of Chemnitz with a focus on projects between their home city and the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.
During the exchange days, the students will keep their own travel diaries to record their experiences and further improve their language skills. A return visit is planned for next year.
