Mayor Ralph Burghart welcomes young people from the Ústí region
Invitation to the photo session: Monday, 2 March, 8.15 a.m. in the foyer of the town hall
On Monday, 2 March at 8.15 a.m., Mayor Ralph Burghart will welcome nine young socio-economically disadvantaged Czechs from the Ústí region to Chemnitz City Hall. They will spend nine weeks in the city and will receive German lessons and learn together with trainees from the Association for Vocational Support and Training (VBFA) in the workshops before completing an internship in partner companies.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to the event.
The young people will also get to know the twin city of Chemnitz better. After being welcomed by the mayor, the guests will be given a guided tour of the town hall by the city's EU Coordinator, Pia Sachs, and learn interesting facts about the city's history and European work.
The cooperation between the Association for Vocational Promotion and Training (VBFA) and the Dobrovolnické centrum z.s. in the Czech twin town of Ústí nad Labem is an example of a town twinning in action.
The exchange is funded by the European Union for the Czech Republic.
