On Tuesday 8 July at 3 pm, Mayor Ralph Burghart will welcome guests from the French twin city of Mulhouse in the Green Salon of the town hall. The Collegium Musicum de Mulhouse will be visiting the Sächsisches Sinfonieorchester Chemnitz e.V. from 6 to 9 July. Around 30 musicians from the Collegium Musicum de Mulhouse and the Saxon Symphony Orchestra Chemnitz are expected at the town hall.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to a photo opportunity.
On the evening of the following day, 9 July, from 6 p.m., the two ensembles will give a joint concert in the auditorium of the industrial school. Under the direction of conductor Michael Pauser, works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Georges Bizet, Joseph Haydn, Edvard Grieg and Antonín Dvořák will be performed. Tickets are available at the usual advance booking offices and at the box office.
The joint concert reflects the cooperation between the two ensembles. Last year, five members of the Collegicum Musicum de Mulhouse were already guests in Chemnitz and took part in rehearsals and the subsequent spring concert of the Sächsisches Sinfonieorchester Chemnitz e. V.. This connection is to be made permanent.
