Mayor of Chemnitz honours winners of the "Jugend musiziert" music competition

Mayor Barbara Ludwig will receive the successful Chemnitz prizewinners of the "Jugend musiziert" competition and their music teachers in the Marble Hall in the town hall on Tuesday, 21 June 2016 at 3 pm.
Four pupils from Chemnitz Municipal Music School represented their home city musically at this year's 53rd national "Jugend musiziert" competition in Kassel from 12 to 19 May 2016.
Eleven pupils from Chemnitz Municipal Music School had already won first prize at the "Jugend musiziert" state competition in Hoyerswerda from 11 to 20 March 2016. Five of the eleven prizewinners in the state competition were too young to take part in the national competition. Two of the prizewinners also achieved first places in the "Jugend jazzt" state competition. This competition only took place at state level.
In the "Jugend musiziert" state competition, 440 children and young people took part in 283 competitions on a total of six judging days with over 60 judges from all over Germany.
