Mayor Ludwig visits ThyssenKrupp Presta

Mayor Barbara Ludwig visited the company ThyssenKrupp Presta today. She toured the new production hall, which has been expanding the existing production facilities at the Chemnitz site since the end of last year and will go into operation from the middle of this year. Ludwig also learnt about the company's investments and products and talked to employees.

"The city of Chemnitz has been experiencing sustained dynamic development for years. ThyssenKrupp Presta is a strong and reliable partner on this path and is exemplary for a number of modern industrial companies in the city. The company consistently focusses on technological leadership and can thus set standards in international competition. This is the future for the traditionally strong mechanical engineering sector and the broad-based automotive and supplier industry in the city. The expansion of the production facility and the rising sales figures are good for the company. And good for Chemnitz as the industrial city in Saxony," says Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig.

ThyssenKrupp Presta has been based in Chemnitz since 2007 and currently employs around 200 people. It mainly manufactures camshafts for cars and lorries here. In March of this year, the 20 millionth camshaft since the company was founded was delivered to the international automotive industry.
