Mayor invites you to the first Chemnitz youth meeting
On 20 December, 5 p.m., University Library - Results of the youth survey published today
The City of Chemnitz today published the results of a youth survey conducted in spring 2023. In this survey, the city wanted to find out what view young people have of Chemnitz as a place to live, where they see strengths and weaknesses and what they need in order to be able and want to continue living and working in Chemnitz.
Of around 6,000 young people between the ages of 16 and 19 who were contacted, around 1,800 took part, Mayor Sven Schulze said today. It became clear that 22 per cent of those surveyed are actually planning to stay in Chemnitz. When asked what they thought was necessary for young people to stay or return to Chemnitz after their education, the vast majority said "work and study", followed by "culture and events" and "leisure activities". The analysis is published here.
