Photo opportunity: Friday, 16 November, 9.45 a.m., Reichenhainer Straße 33a

To mark the nationwide Read Aloud Day on Friday, 16 November at 9.45 a.m., Mayor Barbara Ludwig will be a guest at the "Krabbelkäfer" daycare centre at Reichenhainer Straße 33a. She will read from the book "What to do with an idea" by Kobi Yamada to the pre-school group at the centre.

Representatives of the media are cordially invited to this event.

The "Krabbelkäfer" daycare centre is taking part in the nationwide Read Aloud Day for the second time. The daycare centre has been part of the second wave of language daycare centres since March 2017. This means that the centre has a language specialist who accompanies the teachers and children. On the nationwide Read Aloud Day, reading mentors read aloud in German, Portuguese, English and Arabic to the various groups.

Every year on the nationwide Read Aloud Day, the Institute for Reading and Media Research of the Reading Foundation, together with the newspaper DIE ZEIT and the Deutsche Bahn Foundation, conducts a study on changing topics relating to reading aloud in Germany.
